I don't like it when people convert religions to get married

I often hear of people who convert to different religions just so that they can get married. I do not think this is right, and I feel uncomfortable about it. I think that one should pick their religion (or lack of thereof) based on what they truly believe, and not to reap benefits or find love. I find it dishonest to call yourself a religion and not bother practising just so you can get married. I think that anyone who wants to get married to someone of another faith should either respect each other's faiths or end the relationship, unless the conversion is genuine and based on personal belief.

Is this a normal attitude?

I like it, shows how pointless religion is.

I share your opinion. I also find the expectation that one's spouse should change religions very disrespectful.

Yes, there are a lot of people that are so desperate for a relationship they do stupid shit like that. It's like building your house on the sand when you know the foundation is not reliable, but a house in the mean time even though it's inevitably going to fall apart is what they settle for.

I think it's very funny when people have many of the one true religion.
