I got home, I was really drunk and really thirsty. The water wasn't working (building has problems with water pressure). So I drank from the toilet bowl. I am thinking now it wasn't such a great idea. Do people ever do this or am I weird?
It's certainly not the norm. A bit of advice though, if you're going to do this get water from the tank, not the bowl. The water in the bowl has had urine and feces and possibly worse things in it. The water from the tank hasn't been exposed to the contents of the bowl, it comes in after a flush to refill what was used on the previous flush. it's probably not the very best source of water as most people don't do much/anything about things like algae in the tank, or they put those chlorine tabs in there, those things will definitely cause problems for you.
Perhaps a better solution is to get a water cooler, they typically run around $100 or so and the 5 gallon bottles can be refilled for about $2 each.
Dogs drink out if the toilet and they are fine. In fact they come back again and again because i guess it tastes good ? Maybe they know something we dont
Dogs eat shit too and vomit, plus raw bones and just about anything. Has it not occurred to you they may have different digestive systems to humans?
Yet you think using a public toilet seat without a cover gives you hepatitis?
There is a difference. If you are drinking out of your own toilet then the bacteria is all your own. You can eat your own poop and piss and you will not likely get sick. There wont be much nutrition, and it might be difficult to stomach, but it wont make you sick.
Public toilets on the other hand, have all sorts of germs and bacteria that you dont even want to know about. The person before you could have AIDS or hepatitis or Ebola. So it is wise to proceed with extreme caution
I think it might have something to do with their metabolism. They lick their own wounds to clean them, if humans tried that they'd likely just get a worse infection. Bacteria is a real bitch.
Dogs have a stronger immune system then we do, plus, many human diseases don't infect dogs.
