I'm not a big proponent of the psychoanalytic dream theory but I'll contribute anyway.

The big figure could represent a stressor in your life. The nature of it being unknown could mean that you have a stressor or trauma that you don't know you're dealing with. It could be a single representation of multiple issues in your life, depending on the issue. It could be that you're confused about something in your life in general. It could also be a person, situation, problem or memory in your life that you are trying to block out.

Being chased tends to be interpreted as fear that the problem will overtake you. The sheep could be symbolic of the peace or known aspects of your life, sheep are usually seen as either peaceful or mindless and controllable so they could represent the aspects of your life that you do have control over. The endless field could symbolize your life having no real direction. It could also mean that you're focusing so much on your problems and running from them that your mind can't synthesize anything but your immediate situation.

It could also represent you feeling like your going through the same shit every day, day in and day out. Sheep can also be seen as a symbol of the mundane. The figure could symbolize change that you're running from and the field and sheep could symbolize the simplicity of your life and your fear of your life becoming worse or more complicated.

There you go, I wrote you a novel and I did it for free.

    • Seem to know your shit on dreams. Lol. I would ask you the relevance of a dream I have a lot, however it's about twice the length of your comment here so I'll save you the hell.

      *Nudge, nudge* ;)

Go for it. I ain't got shit to do right now. If it's really that long I could go on a computer and pick it apart, I have it on me.

            • Sweet. I was just kinda implying that if you don't want to due to the length, you don'thave to. :P

        • Alright, I just want to start off by saying this seems like a short movie, which is why I like the dream (it's not a nightmare or a dream I view as bad, it's pretty entertaining). So it might seem cringey.

Ok, well here is how it goes. I just want to say that I don't have this dream every day, not even everyweek, however I have had it quite a few times, around seven to nine times. I had it for quite a few years.

Well it starts in a desert, a flat one. Not extremely flat but you can't see any dunes, you can see straight on from every direction. The sky is red with darker red clouds.
There is a sort of war going on, although it's not between two sides, moreso like a free for all and people are dressed in old attire, kind of like people are dressed in the whole "Jesus" times. Some have got sticks, bats, and so on while others are simply using their fists and legs, heads to attack people. They're all bludgining eachother. Some are down on the ground dead, others are being beaten to death on the ground, and some dead bodies are still just being attacked.

Then I'm on the outside of it. I'm looking directly at the war, not sad or happy, just apathetic towards it all. There's no war behind me, it's all infront of me and I'm not far away from the war.

          • People are attacking and killing eachother for a while as I'm watching. Then there's a woman in a thin white dress with black hair. She hovers slightly off the ground by about five to seven inches and her dress and hair moves as if she's under water. She enters from the other side of the war from where I am and hovers through the war. Whenever she passes someone close to her or someone close to her sees her, that person just stares at her, looks happy, drop their weapons and stop hurting one another. She makes her way past the war in a straight line towards me with a positive happy smile on her face. By the time she reaches me the whole war has stopped and everyone is just staring in our direction. She stops hoering and gently lowers to the ground. She just stares at me while I stare back and I start smiling with her. I then put the back of my right hand on the top side of her head and gently stroke down. Half way down her happy positie face changes to one of pure panic and fear and from that point on each layer of her skin starts to melt in to sand and blows away to the left until it reaches her skin is gone and her skeleton starts doing the same. By the time my hand falls back to my side she has completely faded away in to sand and as soon as she is completely gone the war starts instantly and my face goes back to an apathetic one like it was at the start.

I then look back in to the war and see that there is a giant stone (the same colour as the desert) stairway and at the top a stone throne rising out of the ground just at the end of the war but still slightly inside the proximity. I look at it for five to six seconds and then start walking towards the war.

When I enter in to the war I just walk in a straight line and don't even seem to acknowledge the war nor does the war or the people in it acknowledge me.
I reach the bottom of the staircase and pause. I look up for five seconds and then take the first step. From then on you can only see my legs and feet taking the steps. As soon as I take the first step thunder starts and every step it gets worse. When I reach a quarter of the length it starts to rain a thick red liquid which I only assume is blood (although I can't be sure as it isn't addressed). Every step I take the red rain and thunder gets worse and the staircase is quite high, higher than most stair sets.

I reach the top and then turn around and then sit on the throne. Then the sight goes up to see me on the throne covered in red due to the red rain and I have what seems to be a sand crown or a stone crown? I'm not too sure which it was. I look down at the war and I givea look of disgust (you know how you slightly higher one side of your face at the side of your nose? Like that). Then look up at the red rain falling straight on my face, I see the rain falling on me, and then I wake up.

            ^^^That's it.
I've had other dreams with the woman in the white dress before that isn't this dream, too. I've also had dreams where there is some sort of "other me", sometimes it's just with that dream version of me by myself/himself and sometimes there are ones where I am me in the dreams and I meet this other me. They tend to be the ones that are extremely scary, though. I mention that incase those dreams somehow mix in with the one I just told you.

So, there you go. Aha. :P

Man, posts like these are so much more difficult to read on a phone.

I'm going to start with the desert to get the setting out of the way. The desert tends to represent desolation, disconnection from life or the outside world or even happiness. In this case, I am willing to bet that it means desolation (no one wants to be in the middle of the desert), where the red skies could represent what's seen as the theatrical metaphor for fear. Usually, when you see red skies, you think, horror movie, war, carnage. A war out in the middle of a desolate world surrounded by fear and turbulence (the storm clouds).

The individuals in battle likely represent how you view the general public around you. The killing, the mindlessness, the destruction with an utter lack of logic or reason. This is taken from your description of individuals attacking each other with blunt objects, which is seen as the most crude way to kill someone (and most brutal). The people beating the dead bodies could represent the lack of cognition you may see in others around you. On the other hand, the people in the dream could represent the turbulence in your mind, the activity representing the incoherence of thought and the beating of the dead bodies could represent your inability to let go of issues that you thought you got past. Fighting war with yourself or indiscriminate anger.

I'm adding here just randomly, I just remembered that you said they're Jesus-ages looking folks so that could be a reference to how stupid or simple you feel that they are.

And then there's you, young Padawan. You're a spectator just watching this chaos. Your apathy could mean that you've experienced it before and you "know the drill" or that legitimately take either this crazy public or the war in your own thoughts as a given. You've come to accept worldly evils or come to numb yourself to them, in other words.

The woman can represent a huge myriad of things. Now, obviously the white dress symbolizes peace, purity and good virtue. The woman can either represent a female figure in your life who has managed to distract you, in some way, from these worldly conflicts whose good nature and virtue stands out from the rest and even picks up notice with the crowd or it could symbolize the feeling of peace altogether. She doesn't seem to be there for any good reason, she's just there and she's too good to be there.

Now here is where I'm going to split both ways. In one interpretation, you could be reaching out to a woman who you feel is far above the general chaos and mindlessness of the world in your perception and by touching her, she is destroyed. This could be either that you feel that someone growing to close to you could be harmful to them or you feel that she's a distant dream and, like sand castles, are beautiful and nice to look at but crumble when you touch them. On the other hand, it could be that you're reaching for this inner peace and equilibrium and whenever you try to achieve it, it falls apart and you're back to watching the same mindless war occur either around you or within you.

Rain tends to symbolize cleansing, in your case, I think it adds more to the nature of violence. The rain could also symbolize a sort of sorrow that you feel toward the inner or outer world. Staircases tend to represent ascension that comes in stages, with struggle. Basically, working hard and slowly but surely, rising above the chaos and owning it, either due to anger or a feeling of self-importance. Possibly the feeling that you truly ARE above it all and you truly DO have superiority but it came at the price of having that peace or companionship, although I'm still debating that part.
