I fail every math class i take in college

I'm completely and utterly terrible at math. I hate it. I loathe it. It's my mortal enemy. I've struggled throughout school in math, and have always barely passed with a low C. Now that I'm in college (community college to be exact), I find that I'm failing each new math class I take, and I end up having to retake it in the summer or winter semester.

is it normal that every new math class I take, I fail it and have to retake it?

It's normal, and math is the only class that I usually don't get an A in! Math is also one of my downfalls.

Its normal. I'm also horrible at math but I like it, is that normal? Haha. Anyways, get a tutor and study. Practice. Just get math out of the way, get your credit and move on!

I had the same problem when i started college. All i can tell you is to go to the math lab and study your a** off. It's not like high school where you can find a way to cheat, you actually have to study.

Go into a field that requires no math.

I agree with Joybird or maybe you should stop taking it. If it isn't required for the job you want Then perhaps you could take something else? Does your class let you use calculators?

Get a tutor or ask a classmate to help you.

Say your tables every night when you go to bed if you are weak at them and imagine decimals to be cold hard cash.

    • I do have a tutor- my community college offers free tutors, so they're fairly easy to get... but I don't think he's that helpful :/

You need to change that tutor until you find one that really inspires you. I had a girl for my son and she was ok but not great then I found an old retired maths teacher who's a man and he thinks he's incredible!!! He loves going to see him as he's soooo passionate about the subject.

Good luck - try for an older tutor.
