I feel bad when my parents spend alot of money on me

If you had manipulated your parents into buying stuff for you by lying or guilting them into it, then you'd have good reason to feel guilty. Being greedy and constantly pestering your parents for more stuff would also be a good reason to feel that you're not behaving well.

But you say you mentioned the expansion packs the first time without any ulterior motives, and then simply asked for the second set.

I'm the father of an eleven year-old, and I have done things very similar to what your father did. My daughter never asks for much (in fact, Christmas and birthdays are a pain because she never has a list of things she'd like), but when she does mention something she'd like and it's affordable, she gets it. She always feels guilty about that too, no matter how often we tell her that we wouldn't have bought it if we couldn't afford it.

Most kids don't understand much about the financial side of their family life. You say that the games are expensive, but that's a very relative term. If your parents are sensible people they have some sort of household budget, and if they're making a reasonable income there should be some money available to spend on fun stuff every month. So maybe your parents could easily afford the game and expansion packs, and their bit of fun this month was seeing you happy with the gifts.

I think you should just feel grateful that you live in a family with parents who can afford to do this sort of thing and who enjoy making you happy. Lots of kids have parents who basically don't give a shit about them, and lots of other parents feel really bad because they don't have the money to buy their kids what they'd like.

As Rose suggested, taking the initiative to do some helpful things around the house would be a good way of showing your gratitude. You might also consider telling your parents that you appreciate how lucky you are to have them as parents, and how you're feeling about how you came to have the expansion packs. Knowing they're raising a kid who thinks about such things would probably mean a lot more to them than the money they've spent on the game.

Hmm... how about you turn that frown upside down by focusing on gratitude for your generous, and loving parents instead of feeling so guilty. Also you could show your folks that you appreciate everything that they do for you by keeping your grades up, and doing some chores around the house. Take out the trash without being asked to do so, and if the dishwasher if full of clean dishes then take the initiative, and put away the clean dishes. Volunteer to wash yours parents cars now that the weather is getting nicer.

Some parents are *cough* a bit more pushovers ;) Instead of feeling bad just tell him you appreciate what he does. That should make up for it

just do something nice in return, offer to do something for them. don't accept something for nothing

So be an extra good kid to them and make them happy that they spoil you.
