Well, I feel like my cat is my sister. I was an only child growing up and I grew up with a cat, and I always felt like he was my brother. Now I recently took in this kitty, and she seriously changed my life, I just can't feel depressed with her around.
I have a dog who's many things to me: a companion, friend, younger sister, and daughter. So it's normal to feel the way you do.
Normal if your idea of a sister is a small animal with a furry face. For me, that's a reality.

When I was a kid I felt like my white dog, Diamond was kinda like a sister. An awesome sister who offered unconditional love and support! Diamond was a friend to rabbits and Guinea pigs, she liked to dig and when it rained she would roll in the mud. She was also a master snake killer.
