I feel more emotional as an adult then i was as a child

Not a doctor, but child emotions are not the same as adult. Kids cry at the slightest thing, but recover quickly. Get overjoyed one moment, and sad the next. Being older we feel things deeper and not so superficially, it can affect us more. I think that is what you're feeling.
