I am a 22 year old girl and I noticed a lot of older customers at work call me things like bud or buddy. It feels really condescending and disrespectful, Is it normal?
you got a name, an i assume its not bud! they need to call you by your name and respect you for who you are.
Depends where you live, some places it's just the way people refer to somebody they don't really know. My coworker calls people "bud" or "buddy" all the time.
I agree, I don't like being called that, but it's not the end of the world.
Not always. A lot of people say it as a term of endearment. But its also used as being condensending also.
