I find that music goes best with visuals

For some reason, I have found that a good song for me is complete when it acts as ambiance for a good video. That is why I love watching anime theme songs, since they usually have popular music artists (in Japan) singing to awesome visuals. Of course, it doesn't necessarily have to involve anime, and I thoroughly enjoyed Aviici's Waiting For Love lyric video because the visuals were amazing and they synced so well with the song.

Essentially, for me, great music is completed with a good music video. I can enjoy music without visuals, but otherwise I would likely just use my imagination to visualize a scenario where it would be ambient. Is that normal?

    I think it depends on how i was introduced or repeatedly listen to a song,

    If it was something I listened to in high school on my CD player on the bus i have my own mental images

    If i heard it on a tv show, radio or whatever and looked it up on YouTube and found a video to couple with it that i love too then it will go that way

    Just outta curiosity, when you hear a song that doesn't have a video or you haven't seen the video do you picture a video in your head?

        I usually do, then I get disappointed when the video isn't as good as my imaginings.
