I found a new obsession over 80s music

For the most part I’m not taking about mainstream 80s music although there were some good hits.

I recently went through music genres that began in the 1980s and I had no idea how diverse the decade was!

The decade starts off with flamboyant genres like synth pop and new wave (love human league) to early death metal bi the late 80s.

It’s weird to think the same decade that gave us Olivia Newton John also gave us M.O.D. which was a conservative thrash metal band known for politically incorrect songs like AIDS (Annaly Inflicted Death Sentence) from 1987 and the other humorous hit “Speak English or Die!”

It was also the first decade to have digital synths which gave away to new electronic sounds, that inspired raves of the early 90s

The 80s were cooler than I thought.
