I hate eating other people's cooking

I hate how once you become into your late teens and onward the way you need to react when you eat someone's food.
Each dish you have to pretend to have an orgasm and then give a mini speech on how it is the greatest thing that has ever happened to you.
And repeat this over and over.
Especially if you are a woman.
And then the chef needs to be acting all humble and be like oh its really easy bla bla bla.
And then after its polite to wash dishes.
I get it, and I am grateful, but all things considered I just want to enjoy eating and would rather just buy food than deal with all of that.
There are times I feel compelled to compliment somebody but in general I hate it being an obligation and would much rather have them not do something for me in the first place.

  • I dislike it when people compliment my food too much, hell, I don't even want to get the credit if other people can say that they helped.

Only the dish washing thing really seems problematic here. Otherwise, just say thanks and that you enjoyed the food (only if it's true), and be on your way.

Sounds like you at stuck on the set of an episode of MasterChef.

Dinner parties are the worst, I can't stand the pretence or the gushing praise either. Perhaps you are just not a social eater. Stop at home and order take-out/takeaway, better still make your own.
