I hate it when a person stops drawing certain things.

Okay, this is going to sound selfish, and it probably is,
but it really frustrates me when one of my favorite artists stops drawing something I like.

For example, I've been recently following this artists who used to draw pictures of my favorite shows, and I really enjoyed their drawings, but lately, all they've been drawing is stuff that I am not even interested in.

I wish that I could just stop following them and move on, but I don't want to hurt their feelings. I could ask them if they plan on drawing more of my favorite stuff, but I feel like if I did that, then I would just make them mad.

So, I'm just kinda stuck.

I'm an artist myself, and I have a small group of followers, nothing to really brag about, but I never try to draw new stuff, I always draw pictures about the same subject and my followers love it, so that's why I never try to change it.

Besides that, I know that if I tried draw new stuff, then that's taking a risk because I never know if my fans will like it, or not.

Why can't some people understand that?
If it's not broken, then don't fix it.

Does this make me selfish?

That's selfish thinking. 9
No, I feel the same way. 5
As long as you say nothing about it, then it's fine. 10

I'm not exactly sure where this artist/follower relationship is going on, whether it is on some website or something else.

Disregarding that context, I seems like a problem that also occurs in relation to other types of art, e.g., music. Some artist evolve, perhaps by getting bored with what they were doing early on, and some stick to doing what they do best.

If you think an artist evolves in a bad way, well, that sucks. The earlier work, for which you have great appreciation, isn't deleted from history, and you focus on holding that in high regard.

I say tell them your thoughts, maybe they can draw both? I doubt it would make them mad, and how would they know what their fans like unless they tell them. So let your voice be heard!

I don't think artists draw to get some sort of approval, unless they draw for commercial reasons. If you are not buying his work then don't expect him to change what he does.

If you don't tell them what you want how will they know? Tell them, and be polite even if they tell you they don't want to. Then you'll have closure so you can move on.
