I hate nature because of what she puts us through

Iv`e always felt that nature has it in for us humans because of all the horrors that she makes us put up with. It`s just staggering when you think of all the disease that humans suffer from, & then there`s childbirth, & all the things that women have to go through just to have children, periods, morning sickness & all that crap. When all that`s over & done with, nature makes us grow old & infirm, then kills us in many painful & nasty ways, cancer, for example. It seems that animals get a much better deal than us, they get far fewer diseases, & they have much easier births. They do die, but at least they aren`t aware that it`s going to happen.

Nature is neither kind nor cruel. Nature is indifferent. No organism is independant from her, as the cells in our body make up a complete person, all of us together make up a complete ecosystem which needs to be balanced. Diseases are important, they keep the population down. We're already overpopulated and people are so terified of the idea of eugenics. It wouldn't be very sustainable if everyone lived 80-100 years and died of old age, the way we're living now isn't sustainable.

We sacrificed superior physical bodies in favor of our intellect and ability to build things; this is neither good nor bad, it's simply one of the possible paths evolution took. Because of these sacrifices we can create art and build ships and go to the moon, so factor that into your equation. Hell, you wouldn't even be able to ask these questions if evolution hadn't taken the course it has.

It seems pointless to me to hate nature, we are a part of it.

Please do not use -ists or -isms. 'Life form' is a better general descriptor.

Please do not use the Archaic term referring to a fictitious nether world.

      Thank you.

We get loads of good stuff too though, and everything is nature one way or another.

most animals primarily act by instinct. humans are among the very few species with self awareness, the ability to ponder our existence and our place in the universe, to ask deeper questions and have unyielding fascination about all things that surround us.

But nature is also beautiful, think of what we put her through pollution, overpopulation, greed, we are vandals.

It's normal to detest the aging process. Natural though it is, advances of the human race have created a society that despises and rejects the aged and everything about the aging process, physical, mental and emotional. We are conditioned to hate ourselves as we gather our wrinkles, jowls and jiggles. We moan and groan as our body sags and droops. It's a billion dollar industry that preys on our society induced need to try and fight the inevitable. Yep, getting old sucks the big one and not in a good way.

It's natural selection. Can you imagine how overpopulated we'd be if these things didn't happen. We're overpopulated enough as it is. Life is miraculous and precious and mother nature is equally beautiful and dangerous that's the world we live in.

It seems impossible to be both intelligent, and physically superior. This has always bothered me as well. Look at primates. They are very intelligent, and yet some have the strength of three men. Why are we cursed with such weak bodies? I would like to say though that animals have many diseases, and die constantly as prey, or defending territory. For instance, there is a type of contagious cancer in tasmanian devils.

I saw a documentary about those devils. They were all fucked up in the face and the cancer was spreading from animal to animal when they bit each other fighting. Crazy.

'Nature', is neither a 'she', 'mother', or 'he'.

'Nature', is everything in the Universe, and is not restricted to Planet Earth.
Please be more descriptive as to which part of 'nature' you are referring to.
