I hate people who push the idea that the end is near

I am getting really annoyed with people who screech about how the world is about to end.

Honestly why do so many folks take them seriously? I am not just talking about random hobos I am not even just talking about religious zealots.

People who push the idea that the world will end any second now are simply fear mongering and have agendas.

I get that some might have mental issues but that begs the question. why are they allowed to roam around spreading their madness? Its so bad that its leaking into modern mainstream circles.
If they arent saying the world is ending they will say the country is going to crumble or end or fall apart. Those who try that angle are 100% pushing a political agenda.

Be it those who say climate change will kill us in 50 20 or 10 years to the people who say if we dont follow biblical law god will destroy us.

Am I the only one who feels that anyone who says the end will come needs to be locked up somewhere so they can get help? That or being punished for clearly conning people who are to dumb to see it.

    Who cares? I can understand it might be a little annoying, but it is unnecessary to give a shit about it that much.

    I don't really give it much thought. Every Doomsday prediction thus far has been incorrect (of dates that have already passed, anyway) and so I don't really have a lot of faith in any current or future ones, and even if someone happens to get it correct this time and the end really is near, what is anyone going to do about it? No sense in worrying about something you have no control over, and that you have no way of knowing for sure is even going to happen in your lifetime.

    Of course the end is near... Depends on what you define as "near".

    The earth will likely be destroyed several billion years in the future when the sun moves into the next stage of solar evolution and expands to the radius of mars or beyond earth orbit (the don't have a good estimate on how large our sun is likely to get).

    Mankind may well kill themselves off much earlier than that.

    We all tend to die between age 55 and 110 if we do not have a severe accident or major medical issue sooner in life.

    The last one is near enough for me.... and I'm not going to worry about it.

    We gonna have some issues due to climate change, and they will get worse worldwide. We probably are heading for harder times right now. But people who think the world is just constantly getting worse are forgetting how bad things have already been many times in history, and how much hardship humanity has actually endured. We survived the black death and spanish disease and two world wars... and people think the world the world is gonna end because the weather gets a few degrees warmer.
