I hate self-help, religion, etc

I think you should just let your brain go where it wants, good or bad.

If a lot of people just let their brains go wherever they wanted those people, myself included, could very well end up in a psychiatric ward, or even jail.

If this ever happens to you I'll come and visit you and bring loads of kittens for you to play with

Thanks, kittens are magical! My Siamese dream will be thirteen this year, but I still call him my baby. I wish dogs, and cats lived longer.

It’s tough outliving our pets, but it ensures that they never have to go a day without their best friend.

    • I'm not saying you shouldn't have any morals. They should be naturally ingrained in your psyche without having to read the bible or follow steps in a book. And if you don't have them, the police will take care of you.

Reading the Bible and doing twelve step work helps lots of people! People are free to pursue things like religion, and self-help, new age philosophies, or whatever. You can think whatever you want, you have free will, and that's your right, but others are also free to do the same. I'm glad a live in a place that has freedom of religion.

It sounds like you want people to be their worst selves.

Many people can't figure out life's mechanics, and most people can't handle reality has it is. Religion and self-help philosophies are a guide of literally "how to not fuck up your life" most of the time. Of course that I think religion is much deeper than that, but for your question that's my answer

    • I feel like if you need to read a book to know how to behave, you have much bigger problems.

What do you mean by that?

If I let my brain go, the story would probably end with severe alcoholism, murder and eventually suicide. Not a good idea. That's why we have consciousness and morality. To manage all of the primal garbage our brains come up with.

Megadriver, if you let your brain go, I still think you would finally cave in and buy that pink Toyota Prius with headlight eyelashes. You would name her "Daisy" and drive down the road jamming to Tay-Tay (aka "taylor swift")

Yeah the Mercedes would still be your daily driver but the Prius would be your weekend ride.

Come on, admit it, you know you want one.

If I ever win the lottery, I will buy a Pink Prius, name it Daisy, put eye lashes on it and then visit you in the US, so we can have a nice, relaxing drive down the winding East coast roads, listening to Tay-Tay and Ed Sheran and then go eat quinoa at a quinoa only restaurant. I'm sure someone in America is stupid enough to open a restaurant that only serves quinoa XD

Or we could do a TV show... Megadriver and Leggs's drink for America. We'd traverse the United States, visiting the most important booze makers in the land of screeching eagles... emissions free. (Personally, second option sounds better)

    • So you'd kill people if you hadn't been told at some point that it's not okay?

Funny how I was thinking about this exact thing just the other day?

Religion helps us set boundaries and set up rules. I personally believe in God (Hebrew Bible). So I have to disagree with you.

I think a lot of basic principles of religion are just common sense and good advice. Not all of it, of course, but much of it.

  • Out of 7.4+ Billion people in the world....I don’t actually think anyone going to listen to you unless you have a large enough platform my friend.
