I hate the name aiden

I irrationally despise the name Aiden and all its spawn ( Aydin, Aidan etc) and similar names like Braeden and Hayden. That make me angry. I picture an Aiden as being a jerk or a boring twat. Why are these names even popular? I thoughtless trends.

    OMG so do I. Makes me cringe like sandals with socks. It's like the most pretentious male name that's been shit out within the last ten years. It's all because of that band aiden. They made the name a lot more popular. And WAsnt there a character on Buffy the vampire slayer or something named Aiden?

      I remember an actor called Aidan Quinn before it was popular but he may have been genuinely Irish.
      I hate Jaden equally :)

        Jaden is my brother's name and he's not the worst. I personally hate the name Brad. It's my personal 'Aiden'.

    My brother's name is Adan. I love him but I can't fathom why my Mom gave him the most generic name that, in my area, is associated with being the child of an unwed and slightly idiotic Mother.

    i hate my name as well. change it when you grow up and in the mean time give yourself a totally different name like Evan or Andy or whatever. or just introduce yourself with surname.

    names do not have a personal image FYI, so no, a person named Aiden is not automatically a jerk and i hope you don't assume it either. you are the reason you hate this name, because you associate them with stereotypes.

    I don't hate it but I am starting to see a lot of these Celtic boy name like Aiden and Hayden and Tristan the way I see Michael and Mathew and John; nasty common and boring.

      Exactly. I hate that kids are called Kennedy( often spelled wrong) when they aren't even Irish nor do the parents have any family connection or even like The Kennedys . I hate trendy for trend's sake
