I hate when people say this?

I hate it when people say that the world has gone downhill, and that things were better back in the "old days."

Every time period has its problems, and in every decade, people are convinced that it's the end of the world. Times change, and I wish people would see that. People talk about the "good old days," like the fifties. There was some cool stuff in the fifties. But there was also a lot of bad stuff. Like how minorities had little to no rights. Same thing with the nineties- sure, there was some good stuff. But every decade has its ups and downs.

I think that people should learn to move on. Is it normal?

Yeah, back in the old days nobody complained about how much better things were in the old days.

Well, perhaps in 20 years youl be disappointed with where things are and youl miss the good old days from when you were younger. I miss not having a cell phone. I miss hand written things. I miss putting $2 of gas into my clunker, I miss less political correctness, I miss smoking in a bar, I miss the stegasaurous that walked by my house everyday, ...

The 50's sound like the absolute best time this country has ever seen.

I was just about to make a generic sarcastic comment about how things were great back in the good ole days of the 90's...

Yeah, 90s comments seem to be everywhere nkw. Even though I was born in the 90s it really gets annoying and sick of all this nostalgia, when half the shit they write about probably didn't even hapeen to them personally.

I think people are starting to learn my techniques a little bit on here. I have run into a few stories lately that have disclaimer-like parts to them that prevents me from saying something sarcastic/being a smart-ass. Lol. I might have to change my tactics a little.

I hate when people say that, too. Although a lot of things WERE better. Things were cheaper. Kids were better disciplined. Music wasn't as shitty. I just don't like listening to people ranting about it for too long. (Unless it's Buckley. Exceptions are always made if it's Buckley.)
