I have a hard time engaging with strangers to work for tips

This is my first real job that I'm not working for my own family, I am serving at a restaurant and am not great at it lol. I get people what they want and am good but i am not good at small talk with strangers which is important they say to make more money.

    Oh i am a perfect server. But it really does take talking tonnake really good money.

    If you say you are good at getting people what they want then that would mean you are good at serving at the restaurant. You should be getting a good tip if you are doing what you are supposed to be doing and if you are being nice. I don’t know if “small talk” is really the key here.
