I have no self control when trying to lose weight

I'm okay in the morning and during the day but when I get home from work I can't control myself and I eat plenty during the day. I eat healthy, vegetables lean meat and all that but I go over my calorie limit at night with dried fruits and nuts and other stuff. My mind is taken over by a different person and I cannot keep the promise I made to myself earlier.

I remember reading somewhere that the majority of times you think you're hungry you're actually just thirsty ..
I tell myself that every time I get a craving and just get something nice to drink :)

Are you obese? If not then chances are you don't need to lose weight in the first place.

  • Normal. Lots of people have trouble with dieting, so that's why the diet industry got so huge by selling dietary/weight loss aids.

You practically described me as well.

Save the carb-heavy foods for later in the day, they only make you hungrier. Drink coffee in the morning to stave off your first meal.

Cravings are insulin-driven, it's why skinny people tend to stay skinny and fat people stay fat. Next time you get a craving: set your timer for 20 minutes. Only eat if you're still hungry afterwards.

Losing self-control is never normal. I have no clue what the solution to this would be though.
