I have to drink for my job

I dunno how long I can keep this up, but I somehow landed a managerial position being drunk at my interview and coming across as very confident and fluid in my thoughts... first day I came in drunk and somehow managed to avoid people after lunch when I was hungover. It's been two weeks and I've gotten drunk for pretty much every meeting.

It's gonna be a difficult one to keep up for long. Try drinking a bit less each time, maybe you'll surprise yourself how capable you are.

Nit a good idea to rely on a substance for confidence, you need to learn to be confident when sober. Anything you can do drunk, you can do better sober. It's like the old story about the magic football boots

Why do we look at things like that? If a doctor gives you a drug to help your confidence its not taboo. But if we take a drug that the doctor did not approve of it becomes taboo. If the end goal is to get better why does it matter whether we take this drug instead of that drug? Theyre both bad for you.

I wouldn't rely on a pill long term either if it has harmful effects

If you're going to keep this up you should take benzos instead. They're cleaner.

Is the job well paying, and how long do you want to do it for? This isn't really a long term solution unless you're very good at managing yourself, but you could take a consistent, low dosage of benzos. You'd have no hangover, no booze on your breath, no need to go off drinking, etc.

I drink out of a flask every day at my office job and sit next to my boss. I also drink on my lunch break and come back hammered

that sounds really really unhealthy. I know your situation well as I have trouble coming across confidently in similar situations, but the best you can do at this point is to physically tire yourself out before work. I went on a 160 minute walk before a social thing and I was too exhausted to get nervous, so I talked much more comfortably than usual.

I find that alcohol is necessary to function at your best. If you have a job that isn't run by sober prudes who hate drugs you're very lucky.

Self-medicating with alcohol usually ends in a very bad place.

Sooner or later, someone at work is going to notice what's going on. Maybe drinking is part of the culture in the company you work for, but it's more likely that people will assume you're not functioning as well as you would if you were sober. Also, alcoholics have a (justifiably) bad reputation when it comes to reliability, so even if your drinking is tolerated at the moment, you may well be deemed unsuitable for retention and promotion.

I agree because I watched this happen to a few people

Some people actually function better after a few drinks.
The laws were made for those who do not.
