I hit my classmate in the face.

Hello, recently one retarded idiot was making fun of me and calling me random names. I tolerated it for a while but yesterday it went way over the limit. He took one of my notes and wanted to play around with me, instead I asked him to give it back, he rejected and continued. I asked him once more, then I hit him in the shoulder, he was laughing and being an asshole, I asked for the note for the last time, then I pulled him over the table and hit him in the face with my fist. He immediately gave the note back, called me a psycho and turned around. He wont bother me again for the rest of my life I hope, but what worries me is if this is normal. I am not sure if I took the right way. People say that fight only if there is no other way, I believe there was but I am not so sure about it, he is a fuck tard without friends, so only thing he can do is make fun of others. I feel a little bad about hitting him, but for the other side I believe he deserves that.
