I in to think humanity would be better if we stayed primative?

I think humanity would be best served if we stayed ignorant. Through all of our technological gains we have done nothing but create unhappiness and kill the planet. We as a species will need to colonize another planet to survive. Murder, suicide doesn't really happen in simple cultures. Modernization corrupts and ruins people I think. I wish we could all just hoot and holler around a fire, shaking spears, and be happy once again.

It's not really ignorance, most technology is unecessary.

Or blood pressure meds if you have high blood pressure, or insulin if you got diabetes, how did primitive people of ancient times take care of that?

    • Just need to shake the spears harder and grunt louder...Medicine and agriculture has only led to "super bugs", and famine.

Are you sure this is what you want? People in more simple and ignorant times were more religious, and I've noticed how many people on this site are against religion. Are you against religion too Mr./Mrs. OP? Because it wouldn't make sense if you are but you're still yearning to go back to long ago simple ignorance.

I think primitive sexual rituals around a bonfire could relieve stress. What do you think?

I agree. After we terraform Mars, we should make primitive rituals the norm. Who wants cultural baggage? Be an ape on Mars. It's crazy cool.

Honestly I would love it. My husband and I recently purchased a lot and are going to be living off-grid. We are building a house, but will be living a much simpler lifestyle. We both have very demanding jobs and are fed up.

I know of a perfect area to live that I have visited on Google earth Street view which looks like an area with nice, simple minded people. It's got the most beautiful scenery, snow capped mountains, pine trees, crystal clear lakes and rivers, very secluded and peaceful looking. It's in the British Columbia area in Canada in the Canadian Rockies. The places I've seen on Google are spots along the 2 Lane highways between Calgary and Prince George along and through the mountains, very beautiful scenery. Looks very peaceful and unpopulated, and the small amount of people around there are most likely nice, simple country folk. The only thing that I believe may be a problem around there is that I think that it is all in grizzly bear country.

Sounds gorgeous! Are you planning on purchasing out that way? Ya it sounds like bear country!
This is in TX definitely not the beauty but it's secluded 36 acres.

Have you taken a Google street view look of around the area in British Columbia I was talking about? Anywhere along Canada one and 93 Hwy through the mountains. It is gorgeous out there, mostly wilderness and not much civilization, nice, country folks I'm sure, maybe more simple and backward from today's mainstream world, but yet again I'm not sure since there are almost no corners of the world left without access to the world wide web. There are a few little towns scattered about and cabins or houses I could move to which would be really secluded and peaceful, well except for the bears.
Where you're going in Texas sounds more simple and nice too though. That's really cool that you're building your own house. You'll definitely be away from the modern chaos where you'll be.

I just just checked it out now, I haven't haven't had a second to do anything besides popping in quick on a notification.

Ya that is stunning! Every resource you could possibly need to sustain an off-grid lifestyle is all there and it's absolutely beautiful on top of it!

I think we will be keeping that general area in mind for a future endever for sure! Thank you for that! Ha ha I will show those bears a thing or two 🤣

No problem. Yes, it's beautiful. I guess you may have to keep a shotgun around in case of a grizzly bear encounter, but shooting it of course is only a very last resort. If you're seeing a bear from a fewer steps back, you can just stay quiet and watch it in awe. And I've read before about bear spray. Only shoot it in a literal life or death scenereo. But I think all its beauty and simplicity may still be worth going up there as long as you can handle the bear thing.
However, it sounds like where you are going in Texas sounds very nice too, not the same scenery but still peaceful and simple and no bears. I hope you'll enjoy yourselves there.

    primative
    English

primative (comparative more primative, superlative most primative)

I think that you are obsolete.

    • Lol the irony is not lost. You are obviously unhappy since you took the time to utilize technology to correct my spelling. I think rubbing dirt on yourself and going back to grunting instead of using language will bring you needed fulfilment.

Hillary lost , she lost for all the best reasons. Man has been around for at best 200 thousand years and hasn't harmed the planet all. what you may not like is that the planet created man . this is our rightful place because we earned the spot asshole.

  • I totally agree man! Native peoples had a harder time surviving, but they didn't kill themselves like we do today. How we live in modern times is really unnatural. No wonder everyone is going nuts! It's like were all trapped in an enclosure when we really should be like lions out roaming the savannah.

Nope, sitting around picking lice off each other does not sound like fun. Most people opt for progress to make life a better experience. Over 4.5 billions years life has evolved into us, and we will keep evolving into a higher form of existence. The possibilities look to be unlimited.

You should pick up a history book sometime, it wasn't all chilling around the fire .. life back then would have been substantially harder than people have it today ..

    • True, but they weren't going nuts like people are today. They knew fear, but not misery and psychosis.

Schizophrenia goes back to when homo sapiens diverged from neanderthals, so they knew psychosis ..
And how would you feel hunting for days on end and finding nothing to bring back to your starving family, turning to cannibalism, watching your family get sick and die? I think I'd feel pretty miserable ..
The lives of early humans were short and brutal.

        • Maybe, but their rates of it weren't as high as today. And its true it was brutal back then, but that was nature. That's how we were meant to live. People are much more miserable today than back then. There wasn't time to be focusing on misery when you have to survive.
Today we live in cities of fast moving cars, loud noises, skyscrapers, serial killings, violence in families, pollution, government corruption, and mass urbanization. Humans suffered all through history, but I think id rather live back then when the rules of life were simpler and whatever happened was a natural result of life in the wild. You might get eaten by a bear or starve, but you wont die from insanity from captivity. Ive already lost loved ones now in this time period and ive seen horrific things. So lving wild really woulnt be much different for me, except that itd be harder to find food and shelter and id be in a natural setting without the grotesqueries of society.

I actually agree with you, I'd much rather live back then! Just pointing out it wasn't all flowers and campfires and it'd be much harder work than today :P

Fun fact: there are the same number of hunter gatherers today as there were before agriculture (5mil)(although then it was the global population)
