I judge people based on looks, mostly

I mean, fuck all those people screaming" don't judge, don't judge." Even they claim they don't , they still do, whether consciously or subconsciously. In most cases I judge people by looks, and nine out of ten times I'm proven right. If this girl is a bleached blonde, with a cake face and skimpy clothing, she can't be intelligent, right? ( Maybe, once in a blue moon, there will come a girl dressed like Paris Hilton and still be, intelligent). If that guy paints his nails black, wears make-up and Hot Topic clothing, he must be a emo, right? If you are not emo, why bother dressing that way?
If a girl covers herself with name brands,I take her as rich, maybe in most cases a little stuck-up. And if a guy sporting spiky hair and several polos walks by, I take him as vain.

When you do it just expect the same in return. They might be thinking just as much negative things about you as you are about them.

Maybe that kid who wears hot topic clothing looks at your clothes and thinks you're an asshole, maybe that "stuck up" who wears name brands thinks you're some dirtbag or poor person living in your car b/c she might've seen you in sweat pants on your way to the gym, even though you're probably a clean middle class citizen. You get what I'm saying? You see how fucked up it is to assume things before you ACTUALLY get to know the person beyond their looks.

You're either gonna end up with no one in life, or you'll end up with someone thinking that they'll be one way, but much to your surprise they'll end up being the complete opposite of what you thought, or really hoped they'd be.

Trying to sum up how a person might truly be inside based on what the hell kind of clothes their wearing is pretty fucking stupid! It sounds like high school.

yes, everyone on the street is really just on display for you. They sit there and wait, in clothes fitting fitting their exact personality, just so you can judge them. Well, you better get going, they're all waiting for you out there!

Everybody judges everybody else, but how much they base how they treat the person on this is down to them.

Psychologically speaking, stereotyping is fitting people or objects into groups based on similar people or objects that you have previously enountered. Prejudice is having a attitude to the person based on this stereotype, and Discrimination is acting on this Prejudice by treating somebody differently.

Stereotyping is okay, and can be very helpful, but Prejudice and Discrimination can be harmful and damaging to yourself and other people. The key is knowing where to join the line.

Lul, and I make the judgement based on your words that you are a very shallow person. Do you know anyone well? If you did you'd find that most people don't fit into neat little categories as you seem to think.

And hot topic is many things, but you seem to be confusing emo with goth. Stupid child.

Self fulfilling prophesy. Are you really trying to know these people or fit them into a box?

When you have nothing else to judge someone on but there looks, then they are often judged this way, till you know much more about them and their true self shines through.

Yes it is normal to stereotype. In today's world, politicians base their views on the stereotype, the polls, the demographics, ETC!!! Im not ashamed to stereotyping others, its wrong but i lay the blame on local/network programming. Fact is, i stereotype, i just dont deny it like the hypocrites that do.

We all do it, sometimes as a matter of survival. If you were about to park your car, and a group looking like a gang came up to you with baseball bats, you would hopefully leave. But, if a group dressed like priests or nuns came up to you with baseball bats, you most likely wouldnt.

I think when people say don't judge someone based on appearances they mean "don't a call a brown person a terrorist"

Generalizations are based in truth but they can be taken too far. I don't think you go too far.

Why do you feel the need to form an opinion on anyone? I couldn't care less what anyone wears. I treat every single person the same and I don't care if they are a cleaner or a surgeon. I'm not depending on either of them to pay my bills so I don't care if they are rich or poor.

Deal with your own life before you worry about other people's.

  • I think that's so true. Is it considered morally right? Not so much..but I'm pretty sure most-if not all-people think that way even though they say they don't..Lame.. Heck I think that way most of the time, but I'm honest about it. Way to be true to yourself ;) Lol

  • It's easy to judge people but when you get judged, oh my, the end of the world is there. It's normal to get an idea of what a person is like just by looking at their physique but only by getting to know them personally that you can truly judge them.
