I have a huge collection of coins and bank notes from a stack of different countries.
What I did was draw a map of the world on my living room wall and I stick the coins and notes on the country they come from.

I bet it does. Where all have you been to so far?

I have a curio cabinet filled with items from my adventures. Scarabs from the pyramids of Egypt, scrimshaw from the whaling ships of old, a bottle filled with colored sand that makes a beach with coco trees design from Brazil, A killer whale tooth, a croc tooth from OZ, a small whale's tooth with carvings on it, a bear's claw from Alaska and much, much more.

Absolutely normal. Collecting things often obscure and strange to others is what makes us all so fascinating. My brother had an enormous collection of beer bottles and tins. His hobby was enjoying different beers from around the world. No one was harmed and he did not impinge on anyone;s rights- so no harm done.
My father collected old British cars- not the most financially wise but it kept him busy- and now I know better than most mechanics how to completely strip a car and rebuild it to better than factory. Not much help in the age of computers- but once I jury-rigged a friends newish Ford to get him back home 200km away using my knowledge of old ignition systems and helped pay for many a tank of gas (petrol) in my university days fixing friends' cars and their girlfriends and so forth- and kept them in safe motoring condition which would have been beyond their means had they gone to a mechanic.
My grandfather collected rocks as a child and became a geologist with Mobil.
My mother, I suspect like many collects fine porcelain thimbles. People said she was mad until Antiques Roadshow demonstrated her hobby was actually worth good money.
As Jefferson said- if it neither breaks my leg nor steals from my purse- what business is it of mine?

Your collection is normal. I know people who collect hats, sneakers, figurines, toys, and other stuff. For me, it's manga books. The local thrift shops sometimes have manga and sell each book from 25 cents to a dollar each. Though they REALLY need to do a better job sorting out where certain genres of manga should go. I'm still finding hentai manga in the children's section even after I told them about it.

How is this any different from wine collecting?

I used to collect things when I was kid, now that I am older the closest thing a collection would be cleaning supplies or paper.

Yeah, that's normal. I used to have a pretty good collection of alcoholic bottles that I thought were cool until I had to get rid of them when I moved. It's not really practical for me to collect things in my life right now though.

Why is it not practical right now?

Because I live in an apartment. Temporary living places.

Whatever I collect, I will have to take with me when I inevitably move. It's smarter for me to downsize and only keep necessities if I can. It takes less effort that way.

I've collected some stuff as well over the years. Seems perfectly normal!

I just collect little cute things of all sorts ^^
I want more figurines and the like but I will start to make some papercrafts instead
any flat surface (above the floor) in my room is covered in various knick-knacks but i think they are adorable...

Alcohol collection is kind of cool but isn't it kind of a waste (no offense)? wouldn't you rather just save the empty bottles afterwards? I have a couple of those in my collection (Cat-shaped ones... a subset of my collection is anything cat-related x)
