I know this isn't ok, but. ..

I keep having dreams and visions of my ex boyfriend chasing me. No matter how far I run, he finds me. I need help fixing this. I'm at the point where I refuse to sleep because of this

Apparently it seems you have not completely let go or have feelings that either you feel threatened by him. As I don't know the conditions of your breakup, if it was mutual or violent and maybe he wanted to get back together but you said no? Do you feel threatened by him? Is it feasible to talk to him to perhaps clear up some unanswered questions to perhaps put your mind to rest.

    • That's very rude of you to say that. Would you want to have sex with someone who has stalked you?

I wouldn't have known he stalked you because you never mentioned it anywhere in your post. I'm sorry you're going through such a hard time, it's always traumatic when what you're going through finds itself in your dreams. Some mild meds could help, good luck!

Is he still stalking you? Do you have a court order on him and if not why not?

If you felt safe from him the dreams wd probably diminish over time: how long has it been since you broke up?

          • I do but I'm still scared he'll do something.

Yeah, I know the feeling only too well and I wish so much that I had a solution for you. I didn't feel safe at home until I got a dog and then 2 years later, compensation for rape which covered a security system. I also have a court order but it didn't stop him almost running me down in the street a few days ago when there was no-one around.

Are you able to move away? I know that's often problematical because I tried, couldn't find anywhere I could afford and I'm still here in the same town.

I hope you have counselling and support, and that the frequency of the dreams diminish with time. I attended a Centre against Sexual Assault for a couple of years, but I still occasionally wake up at the exact time I was raped and that's over 4 years ago now.

Go see a therapist. And try hypnosis. Also xanax really helps well with anxiety and sleeping.

Check internet for side effects first before you decide if xanax is for you

I have seen a counselor on campus but it's the holidays. Sometimes I would take some otc sleep aids but that's when I just can't sleep.
