I love music from the 60's and 70's.

Its just NORMAL. I'm also being disconnected from mainstream music. 90s music also cool. Who's care what other people think.

I also love films that took you through the transitional times of the late 60s and 70s while inserting real life clips from that era into the film, like Forrest Gump.

I loved Simon and Garfunkle. Also Billy Joel and The carpenters.

I don't think there is anybody listening to music that is always fitting their age or so. That would actually be abnormal. It would mean changing your musical tastes everytime something new appears, which doesn't happen.

The 60's and 70's is when bands began really experimenting with new sounds, rythems, progressions and content.
The 50's was mainly a few basic chords, twangy and poppy sounds. The 60's opened it up with all sorts of styles. Those happy, 4 chord progression bands in the early 60's became mind altering anthems by the late 60's. The era of Woodstock, Monterey pop festival ... bands began to write full albums and had their albums based on specific topics or emotion.
99% of the bands from the 80's til the 2000's were influenced by those earlier bands of course. Today more and more the bands or artists today are influenced by rap or music that doesn't go past the 2000's. I say there's a lot lost in today's music, but still some great talent out there.

When is comes to music my favourites are the 70's and 80's and a bit of the 50's. I'm not a big fan of the 60's though some songs from that decade are pretty good.

Talent mattered in the 80's. 80's music still sounds good to me.

Its perfectly normal, music those days were great, and not so dependent on technology and pitch adjusting as it is today, those singers were singers with real talent (not saying modern singers aren't talented, but some just get over due to heavy use of technology). My personal favorite are the 80s songs, especially 80s pop...
