I love playing online games at age 22

I LOVE to play online games such as "google pacman", "shopping cart hero 2", "Commando 2" (my favorite), "Heli attack 3" and many others. But I'm a grown man, not 12 or something. And I don't know what I'd do without online games because they are chill ( which means "cool") so what do you guys think?

Personally, I couldn't think of a greater waste of time. At least on here IIN, one can interact with others to some degree. However, that said, I absolutely have no intention of saying you shouldn't do what you please, or that it is wrong.
When I was your age, most games required 2 or more people, sitting around a table, so we weren't as isolated as people are getting today. I can honestly see a future where people live in VR and never encounter another person IRL. That thought just not make me happy. I like meeting new people and having experiences IRL.

I've noticed people of a former generation can't shake off their outdated view of video games. Video games in the past few years have evolved to something different. They've become competitive, and a sport (I think a record 400k viewers was achieved during the recent Counter-Strike tournament). They are a source of entertainment and comedy (Portal 2), or cinematic (Last of Us). So playing a video game for several hours is equivalent to binge-watching your favorite TV series or movies.

I agree with you to an extent, real life experiences have more depth and should be valued over video games. I myself prefer eg. kayaking with friends over playing my most favorite video game. But your last line is a little inconsistent given that you're an avid regular at IIN. And IIN is just as much virtual as video games.

if anything, playing online games would be more normal than playing on a console or "hardcore" PC Gaming.

many online games appeal to those who don't consider themselves a gamer, and may like more casual games, its like Playing games on a smart phone or tablet. people of all ages play those kind of games, even your parents might be playing something like that.

of course, many "gamers" like them as well.
I do, and the classics as well.

Why would this not be normal?

This is 100% normal. I'd be surprised if some people under 30 DIDN'T.

Bah, there are tons of games specifically rated for adults. Nothing's wrong with gaming. I'm 28 and I frequently enjoy playing Skyrim, Far Cry, or gMod's Prop Hunt.

There *are* people who, I think, are a bit ignorant. They assume games are just toys and are for kids only. But games are really just another medium for story telling, just like novels and movies are. Like half of Mass Effect 3, for example, is just cinematics. By playing the game you're essentially learning an intricate story.

Moreover, multiple studies have shown that playing video games is good for the brain, such as improvement of memory, critical thinking, and hand-eye coordination.

In summation, if anyone tells you that you're too old to play games, you should leave that person. You don't need that kind of negativity! :)

Me too, and I am 22, but I prefer a bit more violent ones that involves blood and street racing games that involves breaking the law, being chased by cops and running over pedestrians. GTA VC is my most favorite game ever. I played it on my ps 2 as a kid between 2003-2006, and now after years I am playing it again on-line...

There are people playing games even on their 40s, when I was a kid and used to visit the arcades (over a decade ago) there was a 63 year old man who I could see playing regularly!

Why? The world is so much more interesting. I mean, do whatever you want but....I could never live on a screen like that....although looking around at everyone else my age, it seems normal for them. My parents never had the money for things like that when I was a kid, so I guess I just never got into them.

Bro? I ain't your "bro". My genitalia is not fit for that title.

Lucky for the lot of you, I don't live on IIN. Every few months, I come back to IIN only to get bored and wonder why I bother with (what is often) such drivel. Usually this happens when insomnia is driving me insane and there is nothing to do and no one to talk to. Which, is rather unlucky for the lot of you.
