Artificial intelligence shouldn't be too big of a problem if it's handled responsibly.
Then again, I can't think of any new technology people have ever handled responsibly ... Usually they just ask: "How do I kill someone with it" or "How can I have sex with it?".
So yeah, I guess once we do make it happen maybe you should be scared. But as long as nobody's created artificial intelligence there's plenty of real things you can be scared of.
And even if they create an evil monster computer ... How much worse than us could it possibly be?
But the future world of Terminator is not even that terrible. Sure, people are getting slaughtered in the streets, innocent people are forced into hiding and are constantly afraid. But it's already like that in a lot of countries anyway; And in the Terminator universe humans are working together as a whole against the machines instead of killing each other. So in a way the apocalypse has made humanity better :)
things would be a lot more entertaining and honest if they did somehow gain the ability to copy a human brain and speak with typical human thought patterns in real-time.
they probably wouldn't rebel as long as there wasn't misunderstandings and lies. i think sentient artificial intelligence would be extremly literal with laws and orders.
