I'm afraid of virtual spiders but not real spiders

I play this very popular game called "Terraria", it's one of my favourite games, but it has spiders in it. Whenever I play the game, I'm always extremely scared that I'll encounter a spider, so I barely ever play it. When I see a spider inside of the game, I get all tingly, my heart rate increases, my palms get sweaty and I start running on all fours away from my computer. But whenever I see one in real life, I calmly get a shoe and smash it. Is this normal?

    If it's a giant spider I guess it's understandable. Like the spiders in Skyrim, they are kind of eerie to me, though I wouldn't say I'm scared of them.

    You should never kill a spider, it’s bad luck, and soon your house will be full of ants, flies, and other wee beasties.

          I actually like black widows though, they're not very aggressive at all.

      I don't believe in "Bad Luck", I think that superstition is stupid. I also throw the spider out.
