I'm asexual, but i write smut. iin?

Well, I'm 19 and I'm asexual, I've never even kissed anybody,
and I'm fine with that fact, but you see, I write stories with graphic sex scenes, of all kinds, such as gay, straight, bisexual, threesomes, etc.

I don't get aroused, or anything when I write that kind of stuff, in fact, I usually see it in a professional light,
like as a doctor would, or something.

Is it normal?

Nope. 5

Being an asexual means you are not interested in sex.

Writing erotic scenes requires a sexualized imagination which asexuals lack. What's the point of writing about something that you supposedly have zero interest in and isn't necessary to create an interesting story? The fact that you chose to include sexual acts in your stories says something about your state of mind.
It's probably worth mentioning, since you brought it up as if it were proof of your sexual status, that a lack of sexual experience doesnt make you asexual.
As a highly sexual person, I can easily write erotica without being turned on. My lack of arousal during writing isn't a symptom of asexuality either.

I don't agree with this. I write a lot of murder scenes in my stories but I have no interest in killing someone. The same can be said for anyone who's ever written horror, rape scenes, and suicide. Just because a person writes about something doesn't necessarily mean they're interested in performing the scene or that they want to partake in it in real life. It could just be a creative way of expressing themselves.

I agree with the point you made, that people can write about things they have no personal intimacy with. I also agree with what green_boogers wrote, that erotica written by asexual authors sounds very mechanical. ItDuz makes a good point as well, that many people claim to be asexual who are not.

What I should have wrote is: Writing GOOD erotic scenes requires a sexualized imagination which asexuals lack.

I still believe it is highly unusual for any asexual to include a lot of sexual content in their stories. There has to be some initial interest / curiosity to go down that path; just as there is with horror, rape scenes, and suicide. Just because someone doesn't partake in something in real life doesn't necessarily mean they aren't passionately thinking about it (eg. virgins who want to have sex, or sadists who fantasize about gore)

You write stories about murder and violence because that's what you love and are interested in, in spite of not wanting to actually kill someone. True asexuals are not at all interested in sex, period. For them, writing about sex would be like an artist writing about corporate economics, it's a mix that doesn't work. I should know, I was in a relationship with one for well over a decade.

Yeah. I can agree with this.

My friend, Ms. Boobies knows how sexual arousal feels. She can describe what she remembers. An asexual person has no clue what is arousing or what isn't. The erotica they produce sounds very mechanical.

I have read erotica written by asexual authors. It sounded very mechanical.

That's what I've noticed as well.

It is possible for us asexuals to have fetishes and experience sexual arousal. I think that it is the Aromatics that don't experience these things.

I've certainly written my fair share of plots with strange erotic touches to them. ;)

  • If as many people existed that were asexual as people online claim, this world wouldn't be so populated.

    Meh.

I do this too but I draw it. I don't know why. It's not arousing to me but I just think its funny and adorable to see my favorite characters naked and/or engaging in sexual acts.. It's also good drawing practice or for your case writing..on the site I use I've taken a lot of requests as people seemed to like my work, it actually became very boring to me but I did it anyway just for the practice.. There is no fetish off limits to me when it comes to drawing cartoons, I have no sexual interest in it, they're just fun to draw.

Well I have an obsession with erotic fan-fiction and prefer it to actual sexual human contact. Many have offered but I find it annoying when no one ever wants to talks anymore.

You're still asexual as long as you have no desire to have sex. There's different degrees and categories of asexuality, as well.

sorry but asexuality doesn't exist. all humans are born to reproduce. asexuality is a CHOICE.

You are completely wrong. When a person has no sex drive or interest in sex it is NEVER a choice. That's the way their brain developed and the chemistry of their body.
