I'm doing ballet at 24, is that normal?

I' 24 and started ballet lessons this week. It is killllleeerrrrr. I am sore. Honestly, thought the first class would be so easy after watching one. Dancers, you have my respect. Is it normal to take up ballet? I feel old now, lol. These little 9 yr old kids are amazing. I cannot do a good turnout yet.

I took ballet for the first time at 21 after three years of not dancing. I started tap and jazz in preschool but my university offered a course for ballet and I loved it! You'll get better trust me, I sucked at first too. Stick with it, how many days a week do you have class? Depending on where you live, you can find studios that offer adult ballet for beginners.

I think it is great you are getting out there and trying it. Ihope it grows into something you love to do and it definitely will have benefits on her body mind and soul. Have fun!

Yes. My cousin always wanted to be a ballerina but her life took her elsewhere. Finally a few years ago at about 30 she started lessons. Do it as long as you're able. Age, schmage.

Confession...I LOVE ballerinas (grown women ballerinas). From the tutu down, in particular. *drools uncontrollably*
