I'm done with virtual reality porn

Virtual reality porn is more intense than I thought it would be. If you have a good headset then that 1020p 60fps 3D porn is actually a pretty big step up from watching porn on a laptop.

I had the VR headset for about 6 months. I only used it every once and a while for porn but then recently I found myself using it multiple times a week after coming across a company that makes very high quality content. It scared me.

So I threw it away and now I find myself craving it again unfortunately. I'd actually like to quit pornographic consumption overall because I think it steals the intensity from sexual experience with a partner. VR porn felt like it could do some serious damage to my ability to enjoy sex, especially because many of those scenes you're having sex with 3-5 girls at one time.

Is it normal I got scared and threw my VR set away?

huh, I tried VR Porn, but it was kind of lame. The only one that was kind of fun was one where you could put a 3d model in various positions. But it's nothing to get obsessed about; at least not for me.

What vr porn did you like? ^.^

  • It really sounds intense, and I get your reasons for quitting.

But holy shit! I didn't know tech had progressed to this point yet. I kinda want to get that if I live alone someday.

    • I'm honestly surprised how high quality it is. That's why I ended up paying money for a subscription

If I knew you were gonna throw away your VR headset, I would have given you 10 bucks not to do it and give it to me. I don't care about VR porn, but it would be awesome playing GTA 5, LA Noire, Assetto Corsa, etc in VR...

But I will applaud you for throwing it away. VR porn in my mind is the enemy of real sex. Why fantasize and fake it, when you can get the real thing. Go to any place where university girls hang out, act like a rich scumbag, buy one girl a whiskey, then invite her to your table, order a bottle of whisky to show you got cash, throw a 20 at the dj for a song and she'll be yours.

You're assuming we all have limitless confidence and money.

It is normal to try to stop a habit only to look back later and wish you still had it.

You can always buy another one, even if it sets you back a few more bucks than you like.

Some people think porn is bad but it is like this -
You get part of the satisfaction of sex with NONE of the risks.
Some think, "well what about when you cannot enjoy sex with a real life partner?" Well don't have one. If one is single, no kids, and no STD's, do you really want to risk all that over some piece of ass?
Besides, unless the partner is exceptionally good looking AND freaky in the bedroom, it will probably not be as good as VR.

It is like this - if real life sex were THAT great or even worth the effort, porn never would have been invented in the first place.

While I agree with you, it could help people get less depressed cause they're lonely. It's something I'll say is up to the person who's watching it, so good on you for choosing what's best.

Giving depressed people VR porn could make them less lonely? I imagine they'd become more isolated. I agree OP made the right choice though.

      • I tend to think that greater isolation may result from fulfilling the need for intimacy with something counterfeit. And when someone is fulfilled sexually solely from pornographic means then that drive is noticeably changed when interacting this the opposite sex, and not just physically. Our drive for intimacy includes sex but could never be fully satisfied from that alone.

Yes, you were very smart to throw that out! You don't want to fuck up your brain. I applaud you!
