Yeah i noticed that too. There's so many gay nut huggers around these days it's crazy.
I remembers someone tweeting about that basketball player coming out as gay a few days ago and i tweeted back that i don't care and all of a sudden a bunch of people called me a homophobe and a stupid bigot. I mean, what the fuck is wrong with not caring about something? What the hell did i do wrong? And yes, the people who seem to be the most aggressive about it are straight people
I think it's all a retarded trend, followed by people to seem more fashionable because they think that being a gay activists makes them look more enlightened and open minded.They think they stand out.
It's exactly like the "hating Bieber" trend. Or being an atheist. It's all bullshit propaganda promoted by media to brainwash people to follow a specific trend.

Pretty much all 'activists' really need to find something better to do.

Why do you feel you need to "ask them questions?" Something tells me these "questions" you ask are worded to provoke these people rather than have a discussion.

Crusad3s's post is a perfect example of this. Why would you respond to someone's tweet with the comment that you "don't care" other than just to cause trouble? If you really didn't care, you would have just ignored it, just like the millions of other meaningless tweets that pour in throughout the day.

I'm not saying that you're wrong for believing one thing or another. Gay rights is a controversial issue. Not everyone agrees.

But you are going to stir the pot, then you are only going to get exactly what you're asking for. If it bothers you so much that they're going to call you names or put you down, then don't engage them to begin with.

I'm not saying it didn't happen but this is hard to believe.

As a bisexual person i can agree with you on this as i've seen it many times with all sorts of movements i.e. the modern day feminist movement, animal rights, i saw one in my town square claiming England is a dictatorship, etc.

Like you said, not ALL LGBT activists are complete nut-jobs, but some are, to the point where there's just too many. I remember getting bashed by an LGBT protest group because i asked them what exactly they were protesting about (same sex mariage was already legalised here in England so i was curious as to whether there were other legal rights we don't have, etc.).

Also, like you said, i don't get offended when asked about my sexuality, i don't feel like i should be.

But anyway, all i'll say is try stay away from those protests of they bother you this much.

I hate the ironic way gay activists make stereotypes about ALL Christians when talking about gays. Homosexuals deserve respect and acceptance...and Christians do too.

Alot of this goes on, on tumblr, like people are like 'omg if you don't re-blog this picture of a gay rights poster I'm unfollowing you' it's like no it's my fucking blog and I will post what I want.

I have plenty of gay friends who I respect, but I think even they would be embarrassed if I turned into some militant gay rights protester.

The girl who runs the Gay-Straight-Alliance at my school (who is an out lesbian) actually hates straight people. She used to be really nice to me, then one day we were talking and she asked me what my sexuality was. So I told her I was straight (I'm actually an in-the-closet bisexual. It's really depressing being in the closet...). She does even acknowledge my existence anymore! Being pro-gay doesn't mean you should shame straight people!

I think it's entirely normal to dislike any people who truly believe one group should be elevated above another or who get so wrapped up in a cause that they practically froth at the mouth about it.

With that said, I don't think I've ever seen anyone glorify homosexuality and denigrate heterosexuality the way you're describing. I'd love to know what you asked that made people call you an idiot. Not suggesting that you did this, but some people do ask questions just to provoke; maybe the person you were talking to had had so many of those questions that yours felt like another disingenuous set-up.

But as for your original question, yeah, it's normal to hate offensive zealots for any cause.

As long as it doesn't spread to a hatred of gay people and gay rights I would say this is normal. Hopefully they'll calm down once gay marriage is legalised and they don't have as much to complain about.
