I'm receiving more spam e-mail than usual

Can this be a sign of anything such as someone accessing my wifi? Anything along those lines?

I haven't signed up for anything lately that would cause me to receive these.

I'm really only asking because of a specific group of people that live near me. Otherwise, it's not a huge deal

I'm guessing you are in the US. Congress voted in March of this year to make it ok for our internet service providers to sell our browsing history without our consent. I think that has resulted in an increase in junk email.

If you visit a site and leave your email address you're screwed. These guys trade email address lists all the time. I get bombarded by spam all the time but most of it goes right to the spam folder. I send the ones that do get through to spam folder. Any future ones from that site will go to spam.

Marketers are getting more aggressive. They need to make a buck and they don't care how they get it.

Its normal if you visited or used the internet searches recently. Or if you signed up for something with your email recently. It simply happens from time to time
