I'm tired of racism being in everything?

Is it normal that I'm tired of people seeing racism in everything the media does? For example- for those of you who watch Alex Day's videos on Youtube, he made one where he explained Magic: The Gathering. He said that the black cards were the immoral ones, and the white ones were the more positive ones. He was obviously referring to the color of the card, not anyone's race. And yet there were always those people who rated the video down and wrote about how "racist" he was being.

People see racism in everything- how black bowling balls knock down white pins, how "black magic" is considered bad... wouldn't it be easier to get rid of racism if we didn't overthink it like this?

I would hope those are just jokes but it's true that people seem to look for the racism in everything these days, funny how it's usually the ones who think they are fighting against racism when really they are just making it stronger...

Yeah, it's the normal product of what happens when losers are constantly out looking for reasons to whine about being oppressed. Obviously they are thinking more about their race than anyone else is and it is strange.

I personally believe that prejudiced would lose it's power if we just treated it the way my hometown treated the KKK: as a stupid joke. But by being offended by something so mundane, people are just keeping the prejudiced alive. Those people are the ones I blame for it's continuation in society amidst a few other groups of dumbasses including members of one's own race.

what really confuses me is that there is I would bet not many if any person in the world who is of one race only for example in my family tree there is not many nationality's missing and it is a similar story in my partners family tree we are expecting a child together and he could come out light skinned like me or dark skinned like my partner how could he ever say that either dark skinned or light skinned people are this or that when he is a product of both ..... people often choose to associate themselves with a certain race or nationality when in fact they are a mixture of many.

No one is over thinking anything. These are very intelligent ploys brought to you by your dearest society. Don't kid yourself, you associate whiteness with goodness, and blackness with badness. Most people do, as they should. It's called associative learning: when two different 'things'/stimuli produce the same response.

I definitely don't think this Alex Day person is racist b/c of his card colors. However, I think it's important that people be aware of the simple ways in which we are constantly being conditioned. Ideas. Pounded. Into. Your. Brain. Sack. You cannot withstand them.

I wish there was a point in history we can pin and say "yes! this is where black became ugly/unholy/ scary/bad", because black/blackness had been very highly respected for AGES. For ancient Egyptians, black was the holy giver of life, for black soil was fertile and moist.

but the colour black meaning bad and the colour white meaning good has nothing to do with race those are just colours, it's like green means go and red means stop. Someone can hate the colour black but not hate black people and vice versa.

Time and time again clever tests have proven (shown, rather) that people do associate blackness with badness and whiteness with goodness.

And we aren't taking someones opinions on colors.

Humans have a predisposition to see things that sometimes aren't there. Faces being the obvious example. Sometimes people can be a little too precious about any incidental use of black or white having some covert meaning.

I don't know why you even bother taking any notice of the comments section of YouTube though.
