I miss school. is this ever normal?

I have been out of school for about three years now (college). All finished with that part of my life, right? I miss school!!! The K-12 half is what I miss. I was volunteering last October at a school. I found it all way too much fun. Kids have so much curiosity and enthusiasm. The cantankerous ones are a hoot! I can deal with anything they throw at me. Their whole day is filled with varied activities that are positive. It almost compels me to go into teaching. The only thing stopping me? I make more money than a teacher. Also, I can't figure out how teachers don't go stark crazy from the stupid administrators. Anyways, I'm out of school now, and I think I miss it. Kids are high energy and creative. I would rather be working with kids than the boring people I have to see at work who have like zero enthusiasm.

I went happy crazy when I got to play with crayons again. I love kid art.

    I think it's unfortunate that so many lose that spark of curiosity and enthusiasm for learning as they age. Often times we find ourselves locked into the mind numbing cycle of a 9-5 job, and it's a damn shame. I'm currently coming to the end of my third year in college, and I too am going to miss the constant intellectual stimulation that is school.

      I will never, ever stop learning; it's one of the things that keeps me going. When not at school, I am watching a documentary or reading a book, or even visiting somewhere educational.

    I think fondly of the people I knew and grew up with during those times. I miss that part of it. For me though, I think there's more reason to not miss it than to miss it...

    well I liked school... I think I miss the people most. Both hs and college...I actually need to go back and ffinish college but cant at the moment.
    I am in a whole new state so I cant catch up with old friends anymore.

    You can always do things for your local school to help the kids out if you enjoy it so much.
