People hate people
Praise the steeple
I gotta a gun
To shoot everyone
Bang, bang, bang
No angels sang
Now we're dead
Like I said
CHORUS
You think it's crazy
Bacground vocals (BG): Whatcha gonna do when they come for you? *(likely requires copyright permission)
That's just lazy
BG: Whatcha gonna do when they come for you?
Spit on my grave
BG:Whatcha gonna do when they come for you?
You willing slave
Looked for sanity
In all the vanity
Found no love
Shot the dove
Rode the dope
Found the rope
Now we're dead
Like I said
REPEAT CHORUS
Wrote that in about 10 minutes, and it shows.
Live life a little more, then write about it.
My best song is about my relationship with alcohol and my loved ones, it’s called “hurting” and you can have the lyrics if it helps...
————-
Somehow I get it on my mind
Somehow I do it every time
I go for one... I go for two... I go for three and I can’t see through
And it’s hurting you
I have got to remember you...
My little girl and your little world
And I know it’s up to me to change
But somehow I still stay the same
And it’s hurting you
I see the dishes from last night
I see someone tucked you in right
I see crumpled up cans
And don’t understand what exactly happened
And it’s hurting you
Broken homes, they do not go away...
You pass them on you see
You just blindly do what mom and dad did
And next thing you know...
It’s hurting you
And it’s hurting me

If you at all want to hear if I could be talked into throwing it down on an mp4 real quick, I think you would be surprised. Anyway my point is that the good stuff comes from inside... that’s why a bands really good stuff usually comes from their first release which generally chronicles years of life and struggle, then their more forced releases just lack.
Write what you know. Have you experienced love and lost it? Start there. Also, I find the saddest songs are often like poetry put to music. Good luck!
