I never answer knocks on my door

I get really annoyed when unexpected people knock on my door or call my house phone, my family has keys and if it's someone I know they'll probably call me anyway so there's no reason to check who it is because I know it'll either be someone selling stuff I don't want or a kid that wants me to give him a ball he just flew over my roof. Everytime I hear that annoying RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR sound I just sit quietly for two minutes until I sense they leave.

    I don't like to have people interrupt my privacy. I have 2 dogs who bark while I sneak a look out the peephole. I don't feel obliged to open the door for anybody. My friends always call to ask if they can come over.
    I also have one phone number that takes messages. I don't answer it. Any time I have to give out my number, I give that one. If I want to call back, I do so on my cellphone. Only people I want to know my real number have it.
