I put alcohol on my anal fissure. is this normal?

I'm sure that if you had constipation, you would have occasionally had the stool that was so hard and wide that it tore your anal walls. Well when this happens, I often put rubbing alcohol on a tissue and shove it up my anus to apply to the fissure with the thought that it will kill the germs on the wound. I know it gives me a huge stinging sensation, but then it gives way to a nice warm fuzzy feeling.

I'm not advocating that this is the right or most medically sound thing to do (so don't do it just because I do it), but is this normal?

Talk to a doctor about this, you might be making it worse. There is probably some cream you can buy that is for this purpose.

Trust me, I'm no stranger to the anal fissures. The only thing that would allow mine to heal was holding off for awhile before taking another dump. If I went right after, the tears would worsen.
