I see shadows

Is it normal that i see shadows or scary faces at the side of my vision? Is it my imagination? Am i going crazy?

    I have this sometimes too, and for me at least it seems to be my brain interpreting vague shadows on my peripheries to have more familiar forms, usually people. Similar to seeing a human likeness in random objects or hearing a name in running water. For me, it's harmless. Tiredness tends to make these false interpretations more frequent and vivid for me as well.
