Whenever I see my cat I like to stick my nose in his mouth to smell his breath. I think it smells really good. Anyone else do this?
OMG it's normal! I do it too! It's so weird why does their breath smell good??
I totally agree. My cat likes to lick my face, she always has, and I call it kisses. So naturally when she's licking my nose or my cheek or my chin or whatever I can smell her breath, and sometimes it stinks, like if she's just eaten cat food, but her natural breath smells good. I like the smell of her fur too, it smells like home. I really do think this is because my kitty and I are so close that I like her smell.
I love the way my cats smell and I think their breath has a sweet sort of smell. I don't know how my long-haired cat does it but she often smells like flowers. My little one smells like a multivitamin. Can't explain it, but it's very weird.
I also like the way the edges of their ears feel. I run my fingers along them and it's very relaxing. Haha. Cat people are weird :)
OMG THATS SO FUNNY! I AM THE SAME WAY! i have owned cats like my whole life and for some reason i just loovve the smell of their salmony breath! some people think im a freak;) ahah trust me, ur not alone!
I do the same thing, when my cat yawns. Glad I'm not alone! Rent the movie, "The Truth According to Cats & Dogs". There's a scene where Janeane Garofalo's character talks about this -- LOL!
haha thats funny. I like once in a while smelling my cat or dogs paw. lol never got into the breath stuff cuz it smelled like fish. And my dog has good breath but I just dont like her breathing hot air in my face lol. puppy breath though? Love it!!
I signed up just so I could comment on this, because my cat smells like fresh baked bread. His breath smells sweet and fresh and I love smelling him! Yes, I am weird...but I find it so strange that his breath smells like this. It's strange too because he has a problem with his jaw and his tongue hangs out of his mouth. You'd think his breath would stink. I love that is smells so good - it makes me love him even more! Only another cat owner would understand that...! Mind you, I have other pets and some of them have really stinky breath and i like the way their breath smells too...ha! I wonder if mothers love their babies stinky breath - probably!

I google searched this..lol..Us cat-folk are odd to others, but oh well. Within an otherwise stressful world, we just relate to our cats and find them relaxing and elegant. I never had kids, so all the cats I saved are spoiled rotten. Similar to how some people like puppy breath, I like their smell. One of them wakes me up licking my face. Get a wooden back scratcher and those laser lights to play and even the shy cats will be even closer to their owners.
As I’m sure most people on here, I came across this page because I googled, “is it weird to love my cat's breath” LOL. Every time my kitten yawns, I basicalky stick my nose in his mouth just so I can smell his breath. I also let him play-bite my hands so I can smell his breath when his teeth are clamped down on my knuckles lmao. Not even my husband knows this, although I’m pretty sure he’s noticed me kissing his face all the time 😂

I love smelling their butt too if that makes you feel better :P I know it's weird but I like how my cats smell.
I am not going to lie and say their breath smells like flowers. I think it smells like cat food. However I believe it is just a comforting scent. Like the way I love how my husband smells after a long, sweaty day at work. I think pheromones also play a role.
I love my cat and the smell of his fur but when he yawns it's disgusting. No, just no.
OMG I totally do this too... kitten breath is "cuter smelling" than cat tho. My kitten's breath smells better than my 3 yr old cat. I would never tell anyone I know that I do this! LOL!!!
My Siamese is my precious baby and I smell him all over. I also get in the tub with him and bath him like an infant.
I don't think it's normal but I still do it. I am glad to know there are others like me out there.
Lol its definatly a weird thing but I do it all the time. My friends said they were going to nominate me for that strange addiction show. I love that first whiff when they yawn and eat I'm always trying to smell it. If not I pry his jaw open when we cuddle and then he usually bits my nose heheehe seems he loves it as much as I do

lol, no, but i have a cat who LOVES to lick off minty stuff. she's obsessed with strong mint smells. so i like to put lip balm on and have her lick it off. it feels so good and it's like she's kissing me.
Right..... maybe your gat just has nice breath, I love the smell of petrol and thats very bad. :S
