My dad started giving me driving lessons a few weeks before I turned 14. He insisted because everybody in my family learned to drive when they were the same age. I knew perfectly well it's illegal to drive if you're under 15 1/2, but I did it anyway. Has anybody else learned to drive when they were under the legal driving age? I hope I'm not the only one...
I learned how to drive when I was 12. My dad's love for cars was passed on to me. By the time I was 12 I was practically begging him to teach me how to drive, and he was happy to comply. :)
Started driving when I was 12, I had to deliver tofu for my dad since he owned a tofu store. Every night at 3am I would drive down the mountain to deliver tofu to clients from all across. My dad also made sure I keep a cup full of water in the cup holder and if I were spill any water it would mean the tofu was damaged therefore leading me to get my ass kicked by my dad when I got back home.
I was holding the wheel before I could reach the pedals, and when I could reach the pedals, I was doing that too. So, yes, I would say normal. It really depends on where you live though, and if you're in a rural or urban area.

Yes, it is pretty normal. I know my Dad tried to teach me stick when I was 12 and many of my friends and family learned to drive at anywhere between 8-13.
