I tell black peoples i'm hard at hearing to get them to speak clearly?

I usually don't have trouble with accents. But a lot of black customers at work not only have super thick accents, but they also love to mumble. And some of them get very angry very fast if you don't catch what they said the first time. I now just say "I'm hard at hearing" to get them to speak audibly.

I do it with white people too, but not as frequently.

Anyone else do this ?

It shouldn't depend on their color but it absolutely can depend on anything regarding the way they speak that makes it harder to hear what they say, like voice and accent. Never done that, but it makes sense

I do it all the time with both black & white . So many ignorant people out there mumble or use stupid expressions . Also ask what the word means if I do not understand. And correct them every now and then. Sadly most folk these days do not seem interested in reading books , now by books I mean The Classics , Shakespeare, Edna O Brien, Yukio Mishima, , Carlos Castaneda , G.i. Gurdjief or other serious authors like : Noam Chomsky, Robert Greene, Aleister Crowley, Aleister Nacht, W.B. Yeats, Rudyard Kipling etc.
Sadly most people read rubbish, which equals limited intellect & awful language skills .
