I think social skills and manners should be taught to children

My opinion on social skills and manners being taught at a young age should be enforced and consistent so it will help children with Asperger's and Autism greatly in life. Things such as turn taking and body language. It is of my belief this is an important aspect on maturing and being educated also.

Back when parents did their fucking job, they did teach kids this stuff. These days, forget about it. Everyone need a gosh darn safe space because apparently words do hurt. For petes sake.

Pre school is all about socialisation. Teaching socially acceptable behaviour and practising social skills is a major part of early childhood education. But no one wants to spend money on that.

You clearly don't understand much about ASD if you think the solution is so simple. Specialised, individual teaching to suit their individual needs is another matter. But not every parent can afford that.

    • School unfortunately is mostly collective, not individualistic. Keep in mind IEPs were created for the specialized purpose for a student. Besides, In the UNited States, your property taxes (regardless if you have children or not) PAY for education along with federal funding and grants.
Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as a concern of your is valid and in which qualifies for IEP. Fortunately, for you I am aware of what ASD is and this is what this question indirectly addresses, so instead of assuming I am the average American slob, think of why this was asked, not insulting. Thank you for your concern and comments.

I was trained to teach ECE. I'm well aware it's not individualistic. Preschool is, somewhat, but the numbers still prevent that.

Children with additional needs require more than just an IEP. They may require many other forms of intervention. It is NOT all paid for by taxes.

I don't see what I said that was insulting, but that's your issue not mine. I merely said that you clearly have a very simplistic view, and you do. Using acronyms doesn't convince me otherwise.
