I used to eat chicken bones, literally
After I was done with the meat, I crunched on the bones and slowly ate them in a million tiny pieces. I don't do this anymore because I'm not as attracted to meat as I used to be.

Oh my goodness! Don't die! What you experienced was the chicken bones splintering. Since they're birds, they're bones have holes in them, which makes them fracture easily. That's the reason you shouldn't give chicken bones to a dog, because that'll happen. Please don't do that again.
Well I guess maybe if there small it could be okay. I looked it up and read briefly that small pieces of bone can be digested by stomach acid or however that works. And didn’t see anything to crazy about it but I also didn’t take much time looking. But if it digests fine and maybe isn’t to bad on your teeth I’d say small pieces should be okay.
My sister used to do this when we were kids and I was super impressed by this "talent" of hers at the time
I never tried it myself because it seemed like something that would tear up your butt hole later on, but I thought she was pretty cool for doing it¯\_(ツ)_/¯
First of all, I never said or acknowledged I was the ONLY one with autism here, yes it's a pretty common thing, but for girls? Nah, it may be common for boys but not for girls. So yeah idk why I needed to tell you that thing about autism and girls. But I'm an autistic female. And I'm not sure if saying I'm autistic annoys others with the same condition just because I said it because I was doing something weird. The whole autism thing was NOT an excuse, it's just admitting to what I have, because, ya know, autism can make people behave a bit different. Last of all, I stopped this habit ages ago, did you even read my post? I surely don't do this any longer because it was just a small habit that didn't last too long and I slowly started not liking it. Not because of pain but because imagining the taste of it and randomly starting to hate it. In fact I think you're the one here who's giving an, unjustified and inappropriate response.
I guess to answer the question...
Is it normal? Probably not, but you're not the only one. It seems like something curious people would try at least once in life.
Also I think there's people who eat straight up bone marrow or add it to soups and stuff so maybe it tastes good enough to eat the bones everytime you eat the meat¯\(°_o)/¯
Maybe for some people, eating the bone is the equivalent of eating the crunchy part of the batter that's on the corndog stick, the cherry on top of the whipcream, or the gumball eyeball in those character face ice creams that you can find on any ice-cream truck... Maybe it's the part of the meat some people look forward to??
I'll be wondering about this for the rest of the day now._.
