Why would I do that?
Let's see, could be due to the fact that these irresponsible jackass shithole humans neglect their dogs, leaving them outside at all hours to endlessly bark and bark and bark.
Since most people cannot seem to properly take care of dogs, and be respectful of everybody else, then no dogs allowed!
What's next? Do you want to ban people from having babies because they cry too much?
The problem is that if you did that, most dog owners who follow the law would turn their dogs in, but the more shady/abusive owners would probably find ways around the law by going to the black market. Unfortunate, but true :(

It's INCREDIBLY depressing to listen to trapped dogs bark and bark and bark. They sound miserable.
Really, there needs to be stronger rules in place for people keeping dogs at all. It's kind of a 12-15 year commitment that most people really aren't up to snuff to keep.
All the animals in my family are spoiled indoor animals. I would never chain a dog up so you're just bat shit crazy, and should probably go fuck yourself. My people let their dogs and cats sleep on the bed. Now please bugger off.

I still want to ban some people from having dogs. You would too, if you had to drive down a road where you can clearly see large dogs caged in 12 x 12 crappity crap kennels 24/7. They never get out! That's fucking cruel! Unacceptable! I'd never keep a dog like that EVER! That's the shit I want to stop!
Maybe I should set up a 24 hour video feed of the ASSHOLE TRASH keeping their dogs like that, and put it online with their fucking address. Maybe a mob of dog lovers will storm the lazy bastards house to stop what is outright cruel neglect.
Thanks so much for your kind response, OP. I think I might have been a little harsh in some of my comments to you. Your kind response to my comments is humbling, and really touches my soul, thank you for your empathy, because I feel like you understand.
I get especially annoyed with people who keep their dogs chained up in their front yards. I know putting up a fence and building or purchasing a proper doghouse isn't necessarily cheap, but it's an absolute necessity if they aren't going to keep the dog dog strictly indoors. Chaining dogs up is the cheap, lazy, selfish and cruel sort of dog ownership. Ugh, and the people who approach dog ownership in such a way have the nerve and audacity to resent it when they get called trash.
I think when a dog has a proper fenced in yard it still needs to be taken for walks, played with, trained in basic obedience and given the opportunity to spend quality time in the house relaxing with the family. Dogs are pack animals, and they need to be with their pack. It's like when people say they don't wash their cats, because cats don't like water. I've got allergies and I started washing my cat and trimming his nails when he was a baby, and now it's easy.
One of the wonderful things about pet ownership is that you get out of it what you put into it which is alot better than than any other investment you can make.

Dogs go live in the wild? Again, no. I'm not one that wants dogs to have to fend for themselves as feral animals. That's a horrific life. If you want, just search for how dogs live in places like Romania, or Tunisia. It's hell, and I wouldn't do that to an innocent creature ever!
There are places that have somewhat strict dog ownership regulations that keep the peace. Switzerland and Germany have rules in place that beat the pants off of the lack of regulations that exist in many parts of the United States. So, such solutions exist.
I'd make it so people can't keep dogs on tie outs, in kennels that are inadequately sized for a dog to run freely without developing neurotic behavior (like chronic barking), on and on....
People are so stupid cruel. I'm like, can they really be THAT fucking IGNORANT!!!! Take care of your damn dog right! Don't let the poor thing become a barking pest. Dogs that are exercised well enough don't bark for hours on end.

How do you THINK neglected dogs become that way in the first place? These are completely domesticated creatures reliant upon humans. Humans created them. Neglected dogs are caused by irresponsible people.
What should we do with the poor neglected dogs? Prevent them in the first place. Spay/Neuter kind of has to be in place, so, make it required by law, unless someone wants to go through a licensing process to keep an intact dog. Require a sizable fee for that privilege. That can partly fund shelters.
We wouldn't need to euthanize homeless animals if people wouldn't let their intact dogs run loose, or mindlessly create excessive litters. The dummies in the world have to be educated and regulated! People have to keep an eye on their dipshit neighbors to stop animal neglect.
What's also sad are the dumb people just looking for a pet that go buy a friggin' specific breed of dog, usually from anybody out there. That's stupid! Adopt, don't shop.
I can't think of places off the top of my head, but there are counties or cities in the U.S. that have in fact greatly reduced the numbers of homeless dogs in their area so much so that they have to import adoptable dogs from states that are still overflowing with tons of dogs. The smarter states with better economies and effective regulations have to help out the dumber U.S. states that can't or won't get their shit together to deal with a preventable problem. Darn it!
Let's see it would take less than 15 years, one generation, to take care of this problem. Spay/Neuter, education, be very firm with the idiots out there!!! Don't let idiots get pets! I mean, like oh, you work 9 hours/day six days a week? You want a German Shepherd puppy to stay in your studio apartment all the time? You get home at what? 9pm? Okay, that's an example of a moron that should NOT be allowed to have a dog.

I mean it's okay only if the parent has realized that they've got to cover the food, vet, and all that too, if their kid loses interest. No, you can't throw your dogs in the backyard because you all are too busy blah blah blah. Wait, I will be ecstatic if they even have a big fenced yard!!!!

Well, sadly I've realized people are stupid uneducated. They need regulations, or rules of civilizations, to keep the peace. These are things like noise laws, sanitation laws, and all that jazz.

I'm not wanting a shit ton of laws, just those that are democratically agreed upon amongst everybody involved. I like how things are done in Switzerland, if you want an example.
