I want to die a hero

Is it normal that I want to be a hero? I want to change the world or save someone's life and give my life for a cause? The thing i fear most is living a happy life and being average and dying in my sleep at 85 yr old. If I were a guy, I'd join the marines; instead, I want to be a missionary to unstable/dangerous countries. I desperately want to be someone like Achilles from Troy or the two snipers from Black Hawk Down or Maximus from Gladiator. Am I crazy, or is this somewhat normal?

    Its normal to fantasize about being a hero, but when the shit is really hitting the fan you might cry for your mamma and loosen your bowels.

    Crying for you momma apparently was quite common in world war 1 and 2.

    A man never knows whether he has balls of steel or pants full of shit and piss until it happens despite his dreams/fantasies of valour.

    When you're super old, make sure there's a starving family nearby when you die. That way, you'll be feeding the hungry just by dying in your sleep!

    There is nothing wrong with being remembered after death but if you want to go out with a bang (so to speak) make sure it is for the right reasons.

    Dying is dying whether as a hero or as a coward. I prefer to live my simple life with its usual sorrows and joys and die at 85 than being praised by the nation at 25 in a coffin.
