I want to get into my friends house to get my percocet back

I think he stole my pills but I have no proof and he denied it so I am planning to get into his parents house while he's at work and find them. Is this okay in this circumstance? I don't want to call the cops cause I might get in trouble even though I have a prescription and I don't want him to go to jail

why would OP get in trouble for contacting the police about stolen prescription drugs, if they have a prescription and the "friend" doesn't?

the OP's entire circle is probably drug addicts and criminals. Stealing or other crime is pretty common. Breaking and entering is not legal under any circumstance, save for police who have a search warrant.

Going to the police would be useless. Prescription or not, if someone reports drug theft, to the cops you are just another addict. They are not going to help you get your silly pills back. Best case is they say, "Next time do not have them accessible to anyone except yourself."

The only thing you can do is cut your loss and next time, guard your addictive substance with your life.

I knew a guy who called the cops over a videogame and used the report to get his gear replaced from the game company.

His friends went into his home while he was out, saw his game was logged in on his PC and so stole his in-game items by trading them to another player. He filed a police report and pressed charges.

Police may think it's petty and stupid, but they are still obligated to do their job.

      OP should call the cops.

Games or other property is one thing but when we are talking drugs, even prescription ones, it is kind of thin ice they are treading.

I feel you on this, believe me I do, but do you really want to risk getting caught, and going to jail for breaking, and entering? I hope you get your pills back, but regardless of whether, or not you do it might be a good time to reexamine your friends, and toss out anyone who might be lying to, or stealing from you.

You could call the cops, but there's not much they can do if you didn't see him stealing from you.

Rose you never been a junk. I know someone that went to jail for 9 months. He could have just ate or threw away the pill. It never made any sense to me.

My buddy, that was a former heroin addict told me there was no damn way Kyle was going to waste that 80mg oxycontin. Going to jail was worth the risk compared to losing the pill. That shit blew my mind. But that is how they think.

That is so insane! As many of the young people say today, I can't even... I literally can't even!

Yeah it blew my mind, but then let me know how messed up that addiction is.

Right on. Seriously though, I don't want people who are addicted to pills to even look at me twice. People like that make me wanna put pit vipers in my purse.

True but with a police report they can get a refill. I doubt they'll be able to without one. Doctors won't go for that these days.

Right on! Then I think OP should call the cops, and dump his, or her thieving friend.

I think almost everything can be circumstantial. Maybe there could be a good reason to steal . Maybe there could be a good reason to punch a child in the face . Idk who knows really. And ( not everyone) but some people can change . What if you found out one of the closest people to you stole something? Wouldnt you want to know why? I dont think the world is always so black amd white sometimes its grey ,is it gray or grey? I never did know this

this depends on perspective , like anything , relative to you . If in principle , you can not let the theft go , resolve it . If you can , move on and cut the person out ..........................maybe switch to cannabis + CBD while you're at it .

What medicine was this? And if it was stolen, as you say, does that mean you have been missing doses of your medicine? Speak to your pharmacist for their honest and confidential opinion before you do anything rash.

Dude i was arrested just for crossing a threshold, even with the right to be there , its not worth a felony on your record. Cut ties with assholes , remember you are who you hang out with. Good luck man

If you break into someone's house they might shoot you in the head.

    I say go for it.

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • No, you shouldn't break in the house because you would be breaking the law. The best thing to do is tell his parents and then they can find it and return it to you.

State laws may vary , but i was charged with 2 cases of 2nd degree burglary even though i had a key , And was told to go inside i also worked with a lawyer who saved my ass and i have to do volunteer work but the whole thing was dropped. Just look it up yourself what constitutes for burglary.
