I want to mount a stallion

So my great uncle just passed away and willed to me a taxidermy Arabian horse head. I think he got it in Libya during the great war. I always thought it was cool because you really only see deer or elk, game animals-i think the horse head is unique.

I want to mount it above the mantle of my house. My girlfriend says it's creepy and hideous and that she'll never come over if that "thing" is mounted.

What should I do? Mount the horse and lose the girl or put the horse head in the attic where she doesn't have to look at it?

    How old are you? The Great War was WWI, unless you are referring to the Great Patriotic War which was WWII for the Russians.

        So then you are Russian. I say mount the head wherever you want. You have only one mounted horse head from your great uncle. But there will always be another girl just around the corner. Blood is always thicker than water.

    I say be true to yourself and mount the horse. She will either get over it, or move on, but you will always be able to stare at the horse head.
