Am I weird for going back into a store to pay for an item that the cashier forgot to charge me for?

Strange, right?

I was like, hmmm, I didn't get charged for a supplement.

Okay, I have a selfish reason for doing this. I LOVE this STORE! It has competition down the street. So, being selfish, wanting this store to bring in ample revenue to stay put, I figured, uh, go back in there and pay, so they make a profit, and have incentive to never leave. That, and the whole moral aspects of it all, yes. I felt better paying for the item. It's like economic good karma.

Am I normal, or not?

    I have done this too. Also, I was given more change than I should have been given and I gave it back because I know that they subtract shortages from the cashier's measly salary.

    No, I might have felt guilty if I'd realized that and went back too. I'd also wonder if anyone I know saw it happen... So guilt and possible shame lol.

    I don't know if I would have actually gone back into the store, but I did say to a grocery store checker "Did you just give me [the most expensive item in my cart] for free?" I realized when the total on the screen was too low. Apparently it failed to scan and she didn't notice.
